What is a Zap?
A Zap is a simple, automated workflow that connects two or more apps on Zapier to help you accomplish tasks without manual effort. Each Zap is made of a Trigger and one or more Actions.

- Trigger: Triggers are the events that start your automated workflow.
- Action: Actions are the tasks completed automatically in response to the Trigger.
Think of it like this: when something happens in one app (the Trigger), Zapier automatically makes something else happen in another app (the Actions).
How SmartDocs AI Studio Fits In?
With SmartDocs AI Studio, you can set up Zaps to either initiate (Trigger) or respond to (Action) workflows based on document processing needs.
- Trigger: If SmartDocs AI Studio is connected to a workflow that regularly processes new documents, you could set up a Zap where SmartDocs AI Studio detects a completed extraction as a trigger. This trigger could then prompt another app to take action, such as adding data to a CRM or sending a notification to your team.

- Action: For most document-processing needs, you’ll set up SmartDocs as an Action step. For instance, a Zap can be triggered whenever a new file is uploaded to Google Drive or received in your mailbox. In response, SmartDocs AI Studio will analyse the document, extract relevant data, and send it to your specified app, like Google Sheets or Slack.
